Details to be included in an ESOS Evidence Pack

The final responsibility you have as an ESOS participant is to maintain an evidence pack that is available for audit by the EA. This demonstrates that your organisation has fully complied with ESOS.

This pack should include;

• Details of your organisation/group company.
• Details of the board level director(s) or senior manager(s) that signed off your ESOS assessment.
• Details of your lead assessor.
• Calculation of total energy consumption and areas of ‘significant energy consumption’.
• Details of the routes to compliance you have used for each area of significant energy consumption.
• A record and explanation of instances where less than 12 consecutive months of data have been used, either for establishment of total energy consumption or for the purposes of audits.
• A record and explanation of instances where verifiable data has not been used for the purposes of determination of total energy consumption and areas of significant energy consumption.
• Details of how estimates of energy consumption were made in these instances should also be included.
• Details of the audit methodology employed.
• A record and explanation of instances in which audits do not include energy consumption profiles.
• From the second compliance phase onwards, audit results should also be included.
