Energy planning

For all businesses, good and well informed planning of energy use and ways of reducing this are of significant value. This may include working towards specific targets.

CCA

High users of energy can obtain a 65% reduction on the Climate Change Levy through Climate Change Agreements. 

The discount for electricity will increase to 90% from April 2013. The Environment Agency will administer a new CCA scheme from 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2023.

These agreements need to be carefully monitored and managed to ensure targets are met and therefore the expected reductions are realised.

CRC

CRC (Carbon Reduction Commitment) is a government scheme aimed at large organisations and the intention is to reduce energy use according to a specific plan.

The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme is mandatory for organisations using more than 6,000 MWh per year of electricity.
